THE RESIDENCY
indulging the artist’s artists of nashville
the river indigo says what the listener is feeling. a reliable source of writing songs about grief, pain, and healing, seth and jenna create live show environments in which the listener feels heard and seen. influenced heavily by artists like james taylor, the beatles, and nathaniel rateliff, the river indigo has been able to write about heavy topics while also putting on a lively, energetic live show.
an indie singer-songwriter duo, seth and jenna’s music highlights their honest songwriting and vintage rock n roll influences. they are champions of the indie music community and aim to create regular opportunities for artists in the same boat who do not fit in the classic nashville music categories.
a live show in a recording studio creates a unique listening experience for both artist & listener; using vintage gear and offering the possibility of recording live gives everyone the opportunity to be a part of making something beautiful.
the residency will be hosted at barnfire creative, a recording studio in east nashville. hosting a small, intimate show (60 tickets) will focus this on building community rather than the industry.
the lineup will be curated every month to showcase artists both big and small who are influenced by each other
we all begin making art because we have something to say, but when music becomes more of a commodity than an art form, both artists and listeners are harmed. the residency will put the audience and the artists first by creating a space of community by:
curating thoughtful lineups of artists who are inspired by each other; giving small artists a chance to work with their heroes and bigger artists a chance to give back; offering the audience a curated indie lineup that does not fit the typical nashville music categories.
creating an intimate listening environment where the audience gets a close-up experience with the artists, while the artists get to receive a captive audience; making a space of belonging for all involved.
